VaporFi Pro

Starter Kit

The Jet starter kit cost me $79.99, but the VaporFi Pro starter kit is just $49.99. This puzzled me at first because for $30 less, you’re getting the same 650mAh battery as the Jet, which meant that it should last the same length of time. Surely this one should be the same price?

Carrying on, I ordered, and I found that for my $50, I was getting the battery, two ways to charge it, a wall adapter for the USB chargers, and 3 additional atomizers for the tank. I added a bottle of e-liquid to the order, but I will get to that shortly.

You can buy different colored batteries for the VaporFi Pro, but the starter kit comes with black as standard, although to be honest, it is pretty sleek just like that.

Once again, the tiniest box in the world arrived, and I started to piece my e-cigarette together…

I needed to rad the manual. I don’t like the fact that I needed to read the manual, but things did get a bit confusing and more than a little fiddly. You’ve got the long sleek battery, plus a tank at the top that you need to screw onto it. At the bottom of the tank, you have a steel cap which you will need to unscrew and remove to refill the liquid. I haven’t even got to the atomizer yet but honestly, I can’t see it being an easy feat.

My first thought about this e-cigarette - it sure looks good but it is a pain in the ass to work out. Twenty minutes later however, I had finally figured everything out and I took my first puff from the Pro e-cigarette.

Battery

The battery DOES last just as long as the VaporFi Jet e-cigarette. You’ll get a day and a half’s worth of use out of this before you need to re-juice it, and it only takes a couple of hours to fully charge. It is a pretty big battery to be honest, so it’s not something you can easily put in your pocket. I would imagine that throwing it into your handbag or pocket would damage it easily, much like what ended up happening with the VaporFi Jet.

There is a button on the battery to activate the vapor. As much as I love manual batteries on my tanks, this one wasn’t raised enough to find with my fingers alone. With the VaporFi Jet, the battery stood out just enough from the battery for my fingers to easily find it, without the need to search for it with my eyes. The VaporFi Pro isn’t as easy however; the button lays very flush to the surface of the battery so my fingers often miss it and glide over it. It might not be a big deal for you but it was for me, and it took me a long time to get used to it. I still wasn’t sure how I felt about the new e-cigarette for a week or so.

You don’t have a screen on this one so you can’t tell when your battery is going to die. I did miss that about the Jet, and that’s probably what would explain the price difference between the two of them. Despite all of this, as well as feeling good, looking good, and lasting for ages, it takes barely no time at all to fully charge and gives you a nice smooth draw, every time you choose to inhale on it.

Cartridges/Liquids

The good thing about tanks is that they are designed to be refilled with e-liquid so things generally tend to be a lot cheaper. By ordering everything from the one website, you can save money on the shipping with VaporFi, and to be honest, I found I didn’t bother looking around for cheaper e-liquids because I would only be paying for one load of shipping so in the end, it probably would have worked out cheaper anyway.

The 30ml bottle of e-liquid, which comes in various strengths and flavors, will set you back $14.99. On other e-cigarettes, that may last you a while, in some cases for up to three or four weeks. With the VaporFi Pro e-cigarette however, you will go through things a lot quicker.

Firstly, tank-style cigarettes tend to go through liquid quicker anyway, and secondly, because this thing guzzles more juice than a vehicle! This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it gives off an immense amount of vapor, almost to the point where it could be too much, and the throat hit it gives is incredible. At times, it’s almost too easy to inhale, if that makes any sense at all, and it’s almost as if too much vapor has filled the back of your throat, but if you’re looking for something that gives both vapor and throat hit, this e-cigarette is the one to beat!

You can tell by the tank whether or not you have enough e-liquid, which means you won’t need to put up with that nasty burning taste you get when the tank runs out. It does take an awful lot to fill though. I found that I was using around a fifth of a 30ml bottle every time I refilled it, when the tank was refilled to three-quarters of the way, as instructed, I was getting about a day and a half, almost two days worth of puffing out of it with “regular” use.

The flavors that VaporFi offer are pretty good. You can create your own flavor sensations as well as picking from pre-mixed delights. With things like Butter Pecan, Carnival Cotton Candy, Graham Cracker, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Delight, and Cheesecake Divine on top of the regular stuff like Mighty Menthol, Fresh Mint, Classic Tobacco and Banana Bash, there’s plenty of flavors to tickle your tastebuds. As much as I prefer the generic tobacco flavors, the Butter Pecan one was delightfully pleasant, and the Cheesecake Divine barely lasted a week once I had sunk my teeth into it, so to speak.

Even if you don’t get your e-cigarettes from VaporFi, I would highly recommend giving some of their flavors a bash!

Flavors

You’ll find a pretty impressive array of flavors on the VaporFi e-liquid part of the website, and as well as creating your own beautiful and unique twists on the favorites, you can pick from a range that include:

  • Classic Tobacco
  • American Red Tobacco
  • Sahara Gold Tobacco
  • Fresh Mint
  • Menthol Ice
  • Mighty Menthol
  • Peppermint Party
  • Cuban Cigar
  • Simply Shisha
  • Heavenly Clove
  • Sinfully Cinnamon
  • Very Vanilla
  • Marshmellow
  • Carnival Cotton
  • Butter Pecan
  • Tutti Frutti Gumballs
  • Bubble Gum
  • Red Hot Cinnamon
  • Graham Cracker
  • …… We could carry on for hours here but I think it’s safe to say that there are a LOT of flavors here!

A 30ml bottle will set you back just $14.99, but the VaporFi Pro will use more e-liquid than a regular e-cigarette. Whereas most cartridges only take about 20 drops to refill, you’ll be using about a third (or just under) of a 30ml bottle every time you re-juice the tank. It will last for a day or two, dependent on how often and how hard you smoke it, but we definitely found ourselves going through more e-liquid than usual, which is definitely something you will need to bear in mind.

There are SIX strengths available on the VaporFi website for their e-liquids, which pretty much blew our brains away. You can get:

  • Bold - 3.6%
  • Full Flavor - 2.4%
  • Regular - 1.8%
  • Light - 1.2%
  • Ultra Light - 0.6%
  • No Nicotine - 0.0%

This is perfect if you want to make tiny transitions on your quitting smoking journey! Instead of four stages, you’ll have six and that will make weaning yourself off the nicotine a much easier process!

Accessories

You can now get your hands on lovely VaporFi Pro batteries in a variety of colors including black, purple, silver, orange, green, red, pink, white, yellow and blue, and these will cost you $24.99. The good news is that VaporFi also offer the Pro batteries in the larger 1,000mAh sizes, and these ones are just $3 more at $27.99. If you get the chance, get one of these bad boy batteries. They will last you two days, no problems!

There are loads of accessories on the website, and each type of e-cigarette will have accessories that are applicable to them. They certainly offer a range of colors and alternatives with your options though and that, to me, is never a bad thing.

They offer gift certificates which is perfect for people that don’t know what gifts to get YOU, and you could always buy these to try and encourage others to give up smoking as well. Why not add the VaporFi Pro starter kit in your next Secret Santa or birthday surprise bundle?

Warranty

The good thing about the VaporFi warranty is that it is fairly simple to understand. Other warranties on other e-cigarette brands usually run as a life time warranty that is only valid for five replacements or other such fluff. With this one, you’ll get a 90 day warranty on everything other than the sale stuff on the website, but the cartridges and liquids don’t come under this, obviously.

Added Extras

VaporFi offer a pretty smart refer-a-friend scheme where you refer someone to them, and as long as they make an order, you’ll get a $15 gift certificate to spend on the site when you are ready to make your next purchase. This is actually a great idea. I have no idea how many points I have on the various e-cigarette websites I’m members of, but you normally need to save a bazillion of them before you have enough to get a spare mouthguard or something equally ridiculous. $15 will go a long way on VaporFi - it’s enough to get a free bottle of e-liquid at least, and you don’t even need to do anything difficult to get it!

There’s the 30 day money back guarantee available too, which means if you aren’t happy with what you have purchased, you can send it back with no questions asked, and you will get your money back. I didn’t use it and, to be honest, I don’t think you will either.

In Conclusion

The VaporFi Pro isn’t quite as big and as bulky as the Jet, which means that it will be less likely to break. The feel of the e-cigarette is beautiful luxurious and it looks good too - in the black and colored varieties.

The standard length battery will give you 1 - 1.5 days worth of puffing, and the larger one will give you 2 days+, which is absolutely incredible, and most definitely the longest battery I’ve ever found. If it’s endurance you’re after, this is the one to opt for. When you add to this the amount of vapor you get out of a short puff, and the throat hit it gives you, and you almost have the perfect e-cigarette on your hands. The only thing I’d really change about it, is I would give it the little screen on the front to tell me how much battery power I had left until it died. Other than that, I think I’ve found one of the greats on the market. And, after a month of using it, it hasn’t broken yet! ;)
